Repressed Memories II

I can still remember the '77 Phils highlight film narrated by the great John Facenda. Regarding the 2nd inning play at the plate, the Great One intoned " Steve Gah -vey has yet to touch home plate." Of course Mr. Facenda is right on. When you watch the film, Boone tagged Garvey about 20 feet up the line and Garvey ended up in the vicinity of the Dodgers on - deck circle. From that location he would have needed a ticket to get to home plate. The next night was even worse. The pain of Paul and I and Uncle "George Earnshaw" Frank sitting in the freezing rain at game 4 with ski jackets on, just won't quite go away. Of course that idiot Bowie Kuhn sat in the first row wearing business suit and no overcoat, trying to prove that the weather was fine. He is obviously one of those global warming kooks.
