More NHL unis...

Another total color scheme change--Buffalo Sabres, 1996-97. I couldn't remember the year the Sabres ditched the blue and gold for their new red and black, but the website pegs it at 1996-97. Not that the newer color scheme is all that bad, but that blue/gold was classic. Wish they'd bring those back, with memories of Roger Crozier, Gerry Desjardins, Gil Perreault, Rick Martin, Rene Robert, etc. If the Sabres made the change for marketing purposes, that was a real reach--I can't recall anybody ever wearing a Sabres jersey, though maybe I shouldn't expect to see any out in California.

Then again, I know of somebody out here who plastered an old Buffalo Sabres logo on his daughters' playhouse, and he wouldn't have done it with that new logo...
